Detailed cutting in Goat Island Skiff Kits
These kits use the beautiful custom panel joining method developed by my USA kit supplier Clint Chase. These are the best GIS kits in the world.
Gosh it has been a steep learning curve. Have been back and forth with the cutting people to get things to work correctly. Computer cutters (the machines) are really dumb. But the engineering guys who run them have been extremely helpful and patient.
The boat assembles quickly because the number of pieces of ply are minimal.
A 1/4 scale version of the Goat.
These are all the main bits for the hull.
It is a great reminder of what a simple boat the GIS is. That is the LOT.
On the full size version there are more detailed bits … like all the little gussets that hold the sub seat structure together will be precut too .. limber holes too.
Making GIS hull assembly with Tabs go very quickly

Hi guy’s,
Are you still supplying the Goat Island Skiff kit? Do you have any photos of the finished boat built from your kit? Also a price including shipping to Melbourne.
Regards,
Russ Stevens.
Hi Russ,
I have never made kits directly, just designed the boats.
To see photos of kits specifically can see Clint Chase’s pages
https://www.chase-small-craft.com/goatislandskiff
Only a few photos there. But there are hundreds of photos of Goat Island Skiffs, some made from kits and many completely homebuilt on the very useful Facebook group. Please ask there about kits and the owners will speak up.

The people to speak to are Boatcraft Pacific in Loganholme Queensland. Also you could talk to Clint Chase in the USA who does a very nice kit. He had a contact in Melbourne who may be able to cut the kit.
